Gorgeous nose of berries and flavors of vanilla, spice, graphite and mocha. Great acidity and minerality that drive the finish to remarkable lengths. Excellent with any kind of red meat meals with hearty sauces.

Alluring, with beautiful notes of freshly crushed raspberry and blackberry layered with mocha, spice, graphite, incense and mineral notes. Long finish stays riveting thanks to superfine acidity. Malbec. Drink now through 2016.

Wine Advocate
The 2004 Malbec is from a 72-year-old vineyard. The wine was aged for 21 months in new French oak. This deep purple hued wine has a high class nose of toasty oak, wild blueberry, chocolate, and Asian spices. On the palate, the tannins are well concealed by thick layers of blue fruits. The structure of this wine should allow it to blossom for another 6-8 years and drink well for another 12 years.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
