Depth and structure are the outstanding attributes of this wine, its magnificent concentration manifests itself in a rich tapestry of potent and original aromas and flavours that, do not eschew its subtlety and harmony.
International Wine Cellar
Bright, deep ruby. Slightly high-toned aromas of cassis, blackberry, bitter chocolate and violet. Lush and suave on entry, then superconcentrated and penetrating in the middle, with brooding flavors of cassis, black cherry, wild strawberry, minerals and chocolate complicated by notes of tar and licorice. Finishes with tongue-dusting tannins and excellent length. Rather austere today and not yet revealing its personality. This should be long-lived but really needs at least five years to show its inherent complexity.

Wine Advocate
The concentrated, blueberry-scented and flavored 2002 Idus is a blend of 40% old vine Carignan, 20% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the remainder tiny quantities of Syrah and Grenache. Clean, crisp notes of toasty new oak, lead pencil shavings, blueberries, and black currants are followed by a classy, racy, mid-level Bordeaux-like wine with both elegance and flavor authority. Already approachable, it is best drunk over the next 5-6 years.

Wine Spectator
Sweet fruit flavors of cherry jam and roasted plum fill this plush red, with vanilla oak notes and mouthcoating tannins. Mountain herbs linger on the finish. Has a real sense of place. Drink now through 2010.

Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
