The vines of Los Vascos date back to 1750, planted by the Echenique family. The name Los Vascos translates to The Basques, in honor of the family’s Basque origins. In 1988 the estate was sold to the Domaines Barons de Rothschild-Lafite of France. The Bodega was enlarged and modernized, and an extensive program of replanting the vineyards was undertaken. Today there are 440 acres producing wine.
Today Los Vascos is fast becoming the leader in value priced Sauvignon Blanc from the Casablanca Valley. This is their best Sauvignon ever, with a nose of green apple and citrus. The palate is lively with well defined lemon and lime flavors. Serve with shrimp and other shell fish.
