Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Robert Mondavi Reserve wines are made from the best fruit of individually selected vineyards in Napa Valley, offer the most cellar aging potential and truly belong in the company of the great wines of the world. This wine embodies the marriage of advanced viticultural practices with winemaking artistry, resulting in a wine of elegant complexity that has the structure to endure the test of time. Wine Advocate The rich and intense 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve has a saturated ruby/purple color and is sweet and dark, with a complex nose of creme de cassis, blackberry, subtle oak, and smoke. It is medium to full-bodied and seems richer, fuller, and more intense than the 2004, but again reminds me of a St.-Julien made in Napa. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2025. Score: 94. —Robert Parker, December 2006.Wine Enthusiast Shows all the hallmarks of great Mondavi Reserve. Ageworthy and complex, with enormously ripe, rich fruit, classic chocolate, cassis plus cream and spice from new oak. So smoothly voluptuous now, it goes down like velvet, but the tannin-acid balance will easily hold this wine through 2015. Score: 94. —Steve Heimoff, December 15, 2006. |
